LegacyNY brokers deal at Industry City in Brooklyn for Porcelanosa Interior Design Showroom

Spanish interior-design brand Porcelanosa has inked a 10-year lease for a 6,500-square-foot retail showroom at Industry City, joining Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and Design Within Reach on the waterfront in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park.

Known for ceramic tiles as well as kitchen and bath products, Porcelanosa will debut at Industry City next summer. Rents at the complex, which includes 6 million square feet of space spread across 16 buildings, range from $15 to $40 per square foot.

Marc Mas, Ken Fishel and Jessica Jaber at Legacy Real Estate represented the tenant, while Industry City was represented by Grant Holtan and Chase Welles of its internal leasing team.

The addition of Porcelanosa to Industry City’s budding Design District reflects a curated approach to leasing by co-owners Belvedere Capital, Jamestown, and Angelo Gordon & Co. Since 2013, they have poured more than $300 million into redevelopment efforts at the formerly derelict complex, leasing more than 3 million square feet to a mix of manufacturing, food, fashion and home furnishings tenants.

Industry City’s heart is a row of imposing six-story former factories that span the entire block from 2nd to 3rd Avenues between 33rd and 37th Streets.

On a recent wintry Saturday, dozens of well-heeled shoppers browsed the sofas and coffee tables at Restoration Hardware Outlet on 2ndAvenue, while crowds slurped noodles at Japan Village, a new food hall and marketplace on 3rdAvenue at 35th Street.
